Xair Communication Sdn Bhd (Xair) was established on 24th April 2003 to capitalize on the growing demand for outsourcing in the telecommunications and IT sectors. Since its inception, Xair has played a pivotal role in shaping Malaysia’s digital infrastructure, contributing to landmark projects such as:
- The first 3G network in the region (Maxis 3G with Nokia Siemens Networks)
- The largest 3G rollout in Southeast Asia (Celcom 3G with Alcatel Lucent)
- The first WiMAX network deployment (P1 with Alcatel Lucent)
In 2010, Xair expanded into IT services, delivering database and GIS solutions for government-linked companies (GLCs). This diversification laid the foundation for further growth into high-value consulting and engineering services.
By 2016, Xair had partnered with a North America-based oil & gas software and consulting firm, marking its entry into the energy sector. This led to securing its first hydrocarbon management system project with Petronas in 2017, a major milestone in its transformation.
In 2019, Xair launched its electrical engineering and testing services division, followed by securing transformer testing contracts with Petronas in 2021. Most recently, in 2025, Xair was awarded a heater bundle maintenance services contract, further solidifying its presence in the oil & gas industry. Today, Xair’s service portfolio spans:

- Subsurface studies and hydrocarbon management
